Tijeras Creek Trail is located in Rancho Santa Margarita. It is a trail that is not far from civilization with housing and toll roads in sight during entire hike. There is elevation, tree cover, wildflowers, and a manicured dirt road. The parking is at the Canada Vista Park which has a skate park, a baseball field, batting cages and a very nice public restroom with sinks and water fountains. After leaving your car you will walk towards the bathrooms located to the left with the baseball fields to the right. After you pass both you will see a gate with an entrance area this is the beginning of the hike. you will go right at this point towards the trail and hit a 5.4 mile loop. This loop would be good for walking, running, or biking. I had service on my verizon phone the entire walk and there was well posted trail signs.
